Sell on Surplus GY

Non-profit organisation

A charity, NGO or association

For an organisation selling to fund its work, under its own name, with the same tools a shop uses.

What this type means for you

Every seller on Surplus gets the same store page, catalogue and payouts. These are the things that are different because you registered as non-profit organisation.

One document, your TIN, and the same store page, catalogue and payout rail as every other seller.

You sell under the organisation name, so a buyer can see who they are supporting before they check out.

You can switch to another type yourself later from your seller account.

What your dashboard looks like

Every seller gets the same core dashboard: your catalogue, your orders, your store page and your payouts, on one menu.

What you will be asked for

These are the documents the signup form asks a non-profit organisation for, taken from the same list the form itself uses. You upload them in the last step, and nothing on your store publishes until an administrator has looked at them.

  • Tax Identification Number (TIN)

How long it takes

Filling the form in takes a few minutes. Approval usually takes one to two working days, and it is a person reading your documents rather than an automatic check.

  1. Fill in three steps

Your details, your business and your location, with the documents above attached at the end.

  2. Verify your email

We send a link straight after you submit. The account is not active until you have used it.

  3. We review your documents

Usually one to two working days. A person reads them, and you are told either way.

  4. Start listing

Once approved, your store page is public and your listings go live as you publish them.

Ready to start?

Free to start, on the free plan every new seller is given. The form opens with non-profit organisation already chosen for you.

Already selling on Surplus as something else? You can apply to add non-profit organisation to your account from Business types in your dashboard. An administrator checks the paperwork for the new type before it is approved.
