Who we are and what we are building
Surplus-GY is an e-commerce platform built for Guyana. We connect local vendors with shoppers here at home, across the South American and Caribbean regions, and further afield.
We were set up to answer a straightforward need: Guyanese businesses wanting to sell online, and Guyanese shoppers wanting somewhere reliable to buy from them. Sellers get the tools to run a proper online shop, from listings and stock control to orders and delivery. Shoppers get a wide choice from businesses across the country, with secure payment and delivery nationwide.
Most of the businesses selling with us are small and medium-sized Guyanese enterprises. Every order placed on Surplus-GY goes to one of them, which is the part of this we are most pleased about.
We are committed to building something that works for the long term: for the businesses that sell here, for the customers who buy here, and for the wider growth of trade in Guyana.
