Prohibited Items and Activities Policy

1. Prohibited Items
The following items are strictly prohibited from being listed or sold on the Surplus-Gy platform:

  • Illegal Substances: Drugs classified as illegal under Caricom, EU and US laws, including but not limited to cocaine, heroin, methamphetamine, and unlicensed pharmaceuticals.
  • Weapons: Firearms, ammunition, explosives, and related accessories unless explicitly allowed by local laws and only with proper licensing.
  • Counterfeit Goods: Products that infringe on trademarks, copyrights, or other intellectual property rights, such as fake designer clothing or pirated software.
  • Human or Animal Parts: Body parts, organs, or fluids, and items made from endangered species or restricted under the Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species (CITES).
  • Hazardous Materials: Toxic substances, radioactive materials, and other items regulated under the Caribbean Islands Act, EU REACH regulation or US Hazardous Materials Regulations (HMR).
  • Pornographic Material: Explicit adult content that violates local or international laws.
  • Stolen Property: Items obtained illegally or without proper authorization.
  • Restricted Agricultural Products: Certain seeds, plants, or food items that violate import/export restrictions or safety standards in the Caricom, EU or US.
  • Cryptographic Devices and Tools: Devices designed to intercept communications or bypass security systems without proper authorization.
  • Tobacco and Alcohol: Products restricted by age verification laws or licensing requirements.

2. Prohibited Activities
The following activities are strictly prohibited on the Surplus-Gy platform:

  • Fraudulent Transactions: Using stolen payment methods, misrepresenting products, or engaging in price manipulation.
  • Money Laundering: Concealing the origins of illegally obtained funds through transactions on the platform.
  • Harassment or Abuse: Sending threatening messages, spamming, or engaging in discriminatory behaviour against other users.
  • Sale of Personal Data: Listing or selling personally identifiable information without proper consent or authorization.
  • Terrorism Financing: Activities supporting or funding terrorist organizations.
  • Unlicensed Financial Services: Offering loans, insurance, or other financial services without appropriate licensing.
  • Hate Speech and Discrimination: Promoting content or products that incite violence or discrimination based on race, religion, gender, or other protected characteristics.
  • Impersonation: Creating accounts that impersonate other individuals or entities for malicious purposes.
  • Phishing and Malware Distribution: Sharing links or files designed to steal personal information or harm devices.

3. Enforcement

  • Violations of this policy will result in immediate removal of the offending items or activities, account suspension, or termination.
  • Surplus-Gy reserves the right to report violations to relevant law enforcement or regulatory authorities.
  • Vendors may appeal enforcement actions by providing evidence to the Compliance Team for review.
