This disc ensures the smooth transfer of power, enabling the driver to shift gears effortlessly and maintain control over the vehicle's speed and torque.
Encased within the clutch assembly, the clutch disc operates sandwiched between the flywheel and the pressure plate. When the driver engages the clutch pedal, springs within the pressure plate retract, reducing the pressure on the clutch disc. This action temporarily disconnects the engine from the transmission, allowing for a gear change. Once the pedal is released, the springs reapply pressure, and the clutch disc re-engages, smoothly transitioning power from the engine to the drive wheels.
