What wholesale means here Four mechanics. Open one for what it actually does here.

Minimum order quantities Whether a seller will break a case, said before you write to them.

A seller can set a minimum quantity on a line, and the wholesale storefront prints it beside the price.

None of the 416 wholesale lines listed today asks for more than one unit, so nothing here has a minimum you have to reach.

Quantity-break tiers Buy more, pay less per unit. The cart applies it, not a salesperson.

A tier is a quantity and a percentage off. It is the platform's own quantity discount, so the tier shown on the storefront is the price the cart charges at that quantity.

None of the 416 wholesale lines listed today publishes a tier. Until one does, a bulk price is agreed through a quote instead.

Quote requests Where a published price does not fit, ask for one.

Name a product and a quantity, and optionally the price you are aiming at. The seller answers with a unit price and a date it is good until, and you accept or decline.

A request goes to that seller alone. Nothing on it is published.

Purchase orders An approval inside your own organisation, before anyone pays.

A purchase order here is an approval inside your organisation. It moves no money, opens no credit and creates no invoice or payment term: it decides whether the buyer may go ahead and pay through the ordinary Surplus-GY checkout, the way they always do.

The amount is the goods total at the agreed unit price. VAT is already included in VAT-inclusive prices and is added only to applicable VAT-exclusive prices. Delivery and payment charges are confirmed at checkout.

A trade appears here once a wholesale seller is registered in it. Search the sellers by name in the meantime.

How buying wholesale works Three steps, and each one is something the platform does rather than something it promises.

  1. Request a price

Open a seller's wholesale storefront and use the request box on the line you want. It takes the quantity, and optionally the price you are aiming at and a note explaining what the order is for.

  2. The seller answers

The seller sends back a unit price for that quantity and the date it is good until. It lands on your quotes page with everything else you have asked for, and you accept or decline it there.

  3. Order against the price

Accepting records the agreement. While the quote stands you order at the quoted price and the quoted quantity through the checkout, on your own payment method. Declining leaves the seller free to send a fresh price.

Buying for an organisation adds one step in front of the order: a purchase order raised against the agreed price, which somebody in your organisation with approval rights decides. Nothing about the payment itself changes.

Buying for a business?

A wholesale account is an ordinary Surplus-GY account. Register once, then ask any wholesale seller for a price on the quantity you need.

Selling wholesale: a seller applies from Specialised marketplaces in their seller dashboard, and joins this list once the request is approved.
